Information

What is an Acoustic Panel?

Acoustic panels are designed to reduce noise levels and eliminate echoes in a room. It works by absorbing sound waves and preventing them from reflecting off of hard surfaces. This can help to create a more pleasant and less noisy environment.

How do you cut an acoustic panel?

For width ways we recommend a circular saw with a fine tooth blade to cut through the slats and felt. To cut lengthways a craft knife can be used to cut through the felt. You can customize the panels to fit any space by measuring and cutting them to the required specification.

Where can I place the panels?

Acoustic Panels can be used in any indoor area, on both walls and ceilings.

Care and Maintenance

We recommend adding a protective finish to the panels if possible. Something like an oil is perfect as

it protects and keeps the natural look and feel of the wood. Once this is applied a light dusting or hoovering will prevent any dust build up. If you choose to keep the panels without a finish then a dry cloth is all that is needed to wipe the panels down.

acoustic panel Installation Guide

1. Wall Installation with Adhesive:

When it comes to attaching our acoustic panels directly to your wall, we  recommend using construction glue or grab adhesive for a secure and  hassle-free installation.

2. Wall Installation with Screws:

If you prefer a sturdy installation method, you can screw our panels directly into the wall. For our Black-backed panels, use Black Screws, and for the Grey-backed option, Silver or Grey screws work best. We  suggest using a minimum of 9 screws per panel, spaced at 200mm intervals  horizontally and 800mm vertically. If you're installing them on ceilings, ensure they are fastened to ceiling joists. Make sure to  select the appropriate fixings for different wall types, such as plasterboard.

3. Optimal Sound Absorption with Timber Batons

For maximum sound absorption performance, we recommend securing 45mm  timber batons to the wall. Then, screw the panels directly into the  batons through the acoustic felt. If you combine this installation  method with Rockwool insulation placed behind the panels between the  batons, you can achieve Class [A] sound absorption, creating an acoustic  environment that excels in noise reduction.
